Prime Minister John Key has confirmed Hekia Parata will keep her job as Education Minister in a likely Cabinet reshuffle, even though he says she made mistakes last year.
Mr Key says the reshuffle will not be significant and has no intention of moving Ms Parata, despite calls from some education unions.
Ms Parata got into difficulty in 2012 after having to back down over the Government's decision to increase class sizes and then attracted more criticism over her handling of the reorganisation of schools in earthquake-hit Christchurch.
Mr Key says Ms Parata admits she made some mistakes, but is also one of the smoothest communicators that the Government has, and has done many good things since becoming a minister.
The Prime Minister says she will have learned from last year's experience and he is sure she will do a good job in 2013.
