The body of a missing Central Otago hunter has been found in the Mount Aspiring National Park.
Police say Mathew John Laing, 23, from Alexandra, was found at about 6.45pm on Monday following an intensive search of difficult and mountainous terrain.
Mr Laing appeared to have fallen while hunting chamois on precipitous mountain faces above the Rob Roy Valley.
The search began late on Sunday night after Mr Laing was reported overdue.
