A shark sighting is reported near Papamoa Beach in the Bay of Plenty. It was estimated at up to two metres long.
It was seen near the Papamoa beach boat ramp shortly after 10am on Wednesday.
Police say the shark came to within 10 metres of the shoreline, where up to 20 people were line fishing.
