Progress made in maternity improvements - minister

8:01 pm on 17 January 2011

Health Minister Tony Ryall says progress is being made towards improving the maternity system.

The Government on Monday afternoon released its response to a report from Parliament's health select committee, which followed a petition demanding sweeping changes to New Zealand's maternity system.

One of the changes sought by The Good Fight Group in its 2009 petition was nationally standardised documentation and monitoring of pregnany, labour and birth.

Mr Ryall says that is under way.
