Police are looking for witnesses to a serious assault in South Canterbury yesterday.
Detective Senior Sergeant Richard Quested said a man was hurt during the incident on Earl Road, Temuka, north of Timaru, just before 8am.
He was treated in hospital and has now been released.
Police want information about a gold-coloured Ford Falcon sedan, possibly an XR6 model, they believe is linked to the assault.
It has a rear spoiler and a red pinstripe down each side of the car.
Quested said they would like to hear from anyone who saw the vehicle on Earl Road, between 6am and 9am yesterday or in Pleasant Point on Wednesday evening about 7.45pm.
