Christchurch police have found the body of a lawyer who disappeared on Wednesday.
Jonathan McCarthy, 50, was reported missing after he failed to show up for a work appointment in Kaikoura.
A police spokesperson says Mr McCarthy's grey Subaru station wagon was found on a road near Taylors Mistake beach in Christchurch on Thursday afternoon.
A search of the shore line was conducted and his body found nearby.
Police say his death is not suspicious and have referred the case to the coroner.
