A boxer who was hit in the head at the weekend has died in Auckland this morning.

The 31-year-old woman had been boxing at the gym in Wellsford on Saturday when she was hit during a training session.
A Westpac Rescue Helicopter spokesperson said she was initially concussed but her condition deteriorated and she was unconscious when paramedics arrived.
She was flown to Auckland Hospital, where she was put on life support but died just before 8am this morning.
