One person is dead and a second has critical injuries after a two-car crash near Dannevirke.

Police were called to the scene of the crash at 6.30am on State Highway 2, near Piripiri Road.
The pair were flown to hospital.
Police said diversions have been put in place at Otanga Road and Riverdale Road.
They are encouraging people to delay their travel or consider alternative routes as traffic is already backed up in the area.
The Serious Crash Unit is investigating.
