A crash is blocking the Rimutaka Hill road north of Wellington, police say.
The northbound lane of the road is closed and stop/go traffic management is in place, the Transport Agency said.
Police said they were called just after 7.30am to the ute-and-truck crash.
They said no one was injured, but an ambulance assessed one of the drivers at the scene.
Motorists should expect delays.
Hundreds of commuters travel to Wellington from the Wairarapa using the route each day.
