The main road north of Auckland has reopened after a serious three-car crash this morning.
State Highway One north of Puhoi was shut down because of the crash, which happened at about 11.15am today.
The Highway had been blocked by the crash but has now been cleared
Police said the Westpac helicopter has taken one person to hospital in a critical condition.
Three people have moderate injuries.
NZTA has also warned Auckland motorists that a breakdown has blocked the westbound left lane on the North Western Motorway between St Lukes & Great North Rd, and traffic was building in the area.
