A thief who stole cash from a donation box at Auckland's Holy Trinity Cathedral was caught on camera.
The security footage showed a man entering the cathedral in the suburb of Parnell earlier this month, wrenching open a secure donation box and removing the money.
Computer hardware and chalices used for communion were also stolen on the same day.
The man shown in the footage had been seen at the church on several occasions.
The dean, Jo Kelly-Moore, said the doors were open for the entire community.
She said the recent theft was an abuse of those open doors and was disappointing.
