A man brandishing a sword has been arrested in Auckland after a five-hour police operation early this morning.
Officers were called to Roosevelt Avenue in Onehunga about 3.15am, when people in a house became worried about the behaviour of the man who was holding a sword.
They left the house, and police say when they arrived a short time later, the 41-year-old man was still holding the weapon.
The Armed Offenders Squad were called in and the man was arrested about 8.15am.
Police said man may collect swords and no one was hurt in the incident.
The man faces a number of charges.
