Guilty plea for woman who ran over partner

A woman who ran over her partner, seriously injuring him, has pleaded guilty to a charge of causing grievous bodily harm.

Annette Wallis, 44, was originally charged with attempted murder but this was dropped by the Crown.

She appeared in the High Court in Hamilton this morning.

Wallis drove a car that that hit the man then ran him over four times outside a shop in the Hamilton suburb of Melville on 17 November 2013. A short time later she drove her car over a 10 metre bank into the Waikato River.

Justice Fogarty, on an audio-visual link from Auckland convicted Wallis and called for a psychiatric and probation report before sentencing on 9 October.
