Search for West Coast hunter continues

4:42 pm on 1 July 2014

A search and rescue team looking for a missing hunter on the West Coast have found a tarpaulin along a riverbank, which they believe belongs to the man.

The 35-year-old man set out from Hari Hari, south of Hokitika on 24 June and was expected to return last Friday.

Police say the search resumed on Tuesday after bad weather made it impossible to search some areas on Monday.

Four teams were involved in the search, including the police, a search and rescue helicopter and a white water kayak rescue team.
