Friday is the target date for the release of an independent review into the conduct of Auckland mayor Len Brown during an extra-marital affair.
No decision has yet been made on when the report by auditors Ernst & Young will be released, but council chief executive Doug McKay is known to have been aiming for 13 December.
The review has already taken three weeks longer than envisaged and a draft copy has been with the mayor's office for the past week.
The chief executive commissioned the review after the mayor admitted shortly after re-election, a two year affair with a member of a council advisory panel.
Mr Brown has said he paid for any hotel rooms during the relationship, and none were provided free or paid for by the council.
