An arsenal of firearms has been found in Otahuhu.
Police went to the property on Wednesday evening in relation to a domestic incident after a report that a man had made threats he was going to use firearms.
Forty-five high-powered rifles and shotguns were found as well as several bags of live ammunition.
The firearms have been seized. Police say they were correctly secured and there was never any danger to the public.
They say there is no gang involvement.
A man, 70, appeared in Manukau District Court on Thursday on charges of threatening behaviour. He was remanded on bail until March.
