A 71-year-old woman who hit a cyclist at Te Horo, north of Wellington, has admitted a charge of driving with excess alcohol causing death.
Alison Downer pleaded guilty in Levin District Court on Thursday.
Downer hit a cyclist riding in the cycle lane while she was driving on State Highway 1 through Te Horo in September.
School teacher Frank Van Kampen, 46, died at the scene.
Downer was remanded on bail until 3 February, when she will reappear in Levin District Court for sentencing.
