A second policeman in Auckland has been stood down over the leaking of information from the national intelligence computer network.
A constable from a special crime unit based at the Howick station in Counties Manukau is being investigated for providing information to a known criminal.
It has now been revealed that a second constable from the Howick station was stood down on Monday in similar circumstances.
Police say a senior officer is heading both investigations and they have not ruled out the possibility that the constables were working together.
A decision as to whether either constable will lose their job and or face criminal charges will be made by the end of this week.
