Turangi murder accused in Taupo District Court

A Turangi man charged with the murder of James Galloway has appeared in the Taupo District Court.

The 35-year-old man was granted interim name suppression during his court appearance on Monday, entered no plea and was remanded in custody.

James Galloway, 25, suffered a stab wound and was driven to Turangi Police Station on Saturday morning. He died later that day.

Detective Senior Sergeant Todd Pearce says Mr Galloway and the accused are related and police are not looking for anyone else as part of their investigation.
