The New Zealand Herald leads with the news of the death of a boy, aged two, who was run over in a Papakura driveway.

Police are investigating the incident at Orpheus Place, believed to be the home of the toddler's grandparents.

School nurses handing out emergency contraceptive pills to teenage girls is one radical idea suggested to reduce the newborn and fetal death rate in South Auckland. It's currently 20% above the national average.

The Waikato Times reports Hamilton's section-starved housing market saw 56 Rototuna sections sell in one morning to hopefuls who slept in their cars overnight to grab a piece of dirt.

Such was the demand for sections in the final phase of Horsham Estate that sales opened more than an hour early on Wednesday.

An inquiry has begun to find possible victims of an Australian serial paedophile priest, Father Denis McAlinden, who previously worked in the Waikato.

The Dominion Post there's extensive coverage of the visit of the Duke and Duchess of Cornwall to Wellington.

The Press says river-front properties that were close to being written off after the earthquakes, are tipped to become the most sought-after in Christchurch.
