Chinese delegation signs economic deals

The biggest Chinese delegation ever to visit Wellington will sign a new economic partnership agreement with the region's mayors.

The 180-strong delegation is from the south-east coast province of Zhejiang, which has a population of 54 million people and an economy the size of Sweden.

The trade mission, led by Zhejiang governor Xia Baolong, will sign the partnership agreement on Thursday.

It will also sign a Wellington Trade and Business Cooperation Projects agreement.

During the visit, Zhejiang company representatives are expected to sign deals with New Zealand companies worth millions of dollars
