Dental technician found guilty of misconduct

A Bay of Plenty dental technician has been found guilty of professional misconduct by the Health Practitioners Disciplinary Tribunal.

Daniel Sutherland is registered as working in Whakatane and was charged with providing treatment outside his scope of practice and for advertising services unlawful for him to provide between May 2010 and April last year.

The tribunal also found Mr Sutherland guilty of practising dental technology without a current practising certificate.

Mr Sutherland did not attend the hearing on Tuesday.
