Police in Christchurch have arrested a man in relation to the alleged assault of a cyclist on a Port Hills mountain bike track.
A 45-year-old man has been charged with assault following a confrontation with another mountain biker on Easter Sunday.
A video of the incident was posted on YouTube and has been viewed nearly 150,000 times.
Detective Sergeant Ross Tarawhiti says the video made the investigation easier as a number of people came forward with information.
"There are certain unwritten laws for people who ride that track, and the only thing I can say is that the man I spoke to this morning was apologetic and is obviously regretting this whole thing coming out in the media."
The accused man was bailed and appear in in the Christchurch District Court on Monday.
