The Christchurch City Council says it will take about five years to completely repair the city's earthquake-damaged roads and infrastructure, but that it is making good progress.
The earthquake in February caused extensive damage to sewer pipes, roads and water mains.
The Christchurch Mayor, Bob Parker, says 12 kilometres of major sewer pressure mains have been replaced, and 2081 repairs completed on private landowners' sewer pipes.
The council has also replaced 16 kilometres of water mains, repaired 64 water wells and built 13 kilometres of new stopbanks to prevent flooding.
Mr Parker says 20,000 individual road repair jobs have been carried out and 510,000 tonnes of silt removed.
