The NZX50 index fell 7 points, or 0.2%, to close at 3293 on turnover of $82 million on Tuesday.
In currency markets, at 5.20pm the NZ dollar was at 76.42 US, 75.71 Australian cents, 48.93 pence, 59.49 yen and 0.5788 euro.
The Trade Weighted Index was at 68.10.
Fletcher Building was down 2 cents at $6.16, Telecom was down 0.5 cents at $2.125, Chorus was down 3 cents to $3.07, and Contact Energy was down 2 cents at $5.42.
Trade Me listed at midday at $2.70 and rose to $2.90, with 18.6 million shares trading hands.
Sky City Entertainment was up 1 cent at $3.46, Sky Network TV down was 2 cents at $5.22, Fisher & Paykel Healthcare was down 1 cent at $2.39 and Auckland Airport was down 1 cent at $2.42.
Michael Hill International was up 4 cents at 92 cents.
Port of Tauranga was down 5 cents at $9.95, Sanford was up 9 cents to $3.75, Freightways was up 12 cents to $3.65 and Restaurant Brands was down 4 cents to $2.09.
The Warehouse was down 2 cents at $3.10.
New Zealand Oil & Gas was down 0.5 cent at 70.5 cents. It has acquired a 90% shareholding in a company which holds an exploration interest in Indonesia.
Vital Healthcare Property Trust was down 1.5 cents at $1.10.
