The Real Estate Institute says a 50% increase in the levy to fund the Real Estate Agents Authority is neither fair or reasonable.
The regulatory body is proposing to increase its levies from $495 to $760 a year.
The levy funds the complaints process and provision of information to consumers and companies working in the real estate industry.
