Shareholders in the New Zealand Refining Ltd have voted against changing the way it charges oil companies.

A motion, put by small shareholder Bryan Halliwell, sought changes to the company's processing arrangements.

NZR chief executive Ken Rivers said the vote indicates shareholder confidence in the way the processing arrangements were structured and the rationale behind them.
