Jobs advertised online increased in October after falling in September.
The latest Jobs Online report from the Ministry of Business, Innovation & Employment shows the trend in skilled vacancies has been mainly flat since June.
Skilled vacancies increased by 5.6% in October and total online job vacancies increased by 4.7% compared to September.
Skilled job vacancies rose in the main centres with the strongest growth for the month in Auckland, Wellington and Christchurch.
Last week's Household Labour Force Survey showed weak employment growth, indicating that the labour market is still facing significant challenges.
