Fletcher Building is ending a century-old link with the founding family with the retirement of director Hugh Fletcher at the end of September.
The company's links with the Fletcher family stretch back to its origins more than 100 years ago.
Hugh Fletcher was the chief executive of Fletcher Challenge between 1987 and 1997.
He was first appointed to the board of Fletcher Holdings 34 years ago, and has been a non-executive director of the existing company since 2001.
