Malian musician Toumani Diabate comes from a long family tradition of Kora playing- going back 71 generations. He was here for WOMAD. Trevor Reekie caught up with him for Access All Areas.

Stepping back 50-years in time The Four Fours had their beginnings as a humble sax-based dance band playing old-time dance hits that shifted into Shadows-style instrumentals and beat band styles with the arrival of two guitarists. Soon with TV appearances and hit records, they were cleaning up on the Auckland club scene and after a gig supporting the Rolling Stones they were sailing off to try their luck alongside the big names on the British circuit under the new name, Human Instinct.
