A Pasifika biomedical scientist and researcher has become the first Tongan to be appointed Associate Dean at a New Zealand university medical school.

Doctor Dianne Sika-Paotonu will be the new Associate Dean Pacific for the University of Otago in Wellington.
Dr Sika-Paotonu will be looking after the Pacific students enrolled into programmes such as medicine and radiation therapy.
