A prison guard in American Samoa is facing charges of aiding the escape of prisoners.
The guard and three inmates have been arrested for an unauthorised trip to Alofau in a police van.
The Corrections officer who drove the van on Wednesday is also facing charges of permitting escape and tampering and his bail is set at 15-thousand US dollars.
The inmates were supposed to be behind bars at the territorial correctional facility and are charged with escape.
All three, who are serving sentences for drug convictions, are held without bail.
