Samoa Govt MP to stand trial

Samoa government MP and associate minister Peseta Vaifou Tevaga will stand trial in October for drunk driving and for being an unlicensed driver.

The charges relate to a government vehicle he was driving which collided with another car over a week go.

His lawyer entered a not guilty plea on his behalf.

The associate minister and MP for Faasalele'aga number four constituency was initially charged with drunk driving but police later filed an additional charge of unlicensed driver against him.

His court date has been set for October the 29th where he says he will fight the charges to prove his innocence.
