Sport: PNG Hunters coach says every game is a must win

The Papua New Guinea Hunters rugby league coach Michael Marum says they need to win all of their remaining games in the Queensland Cup to have any chance of sneaking into the post-season.

The Hunters have won three straight matches at home to consolidate sixth place and play their final game in Kokopo this Saturday against the fifth-ranked Ipswich Jets, who currently fill the final playoff position.

Michael Marum says all they can do is keep on winning.

"We're still out of the top five by three points so if we can close this down this weekend will be good and then we expect [other teams] to come up and one of those two other top teams will probably lose their games too and that should create a way for us but we still have to win all our remaining games - even our away games - and we've got one bye there".

After this weekend, the Hunters round off their season with away matches against Wynumm Manly Seagulls and South's Logan Mapgies and a bye, before the start of the finals series.
