An urgent stay application filed in Papua New Guinea's Supreme Court on behalf of Prime Minister Peter O'Neill has been adjourned to next Thursday.
The application seeks to stay an arrest warrant issued against the Prime Minister, which was upheld by the National Court earlier this week.
The arrest warrant related to Mr O'Neill's alleged role in illegal state payments to a law firm.
PNG Loop reports that the adjournment is to allow time for appeals and submissions to be prepared and served on all parties before the motion for stay can be heard.
Meanwhile, the police commissioner Geoffrey Vaki has asked the district court to set aside the arrest warrant.
