The Civil Aviation Authority of Fiji says it is concerned about the hard landing of a Fiji plane in Sydney last week, which damaged the aircraft.
The new Fiji Airways Airbus A330 returned to Nadi and the Authority now wants to know how the plane was allowed to fly back.
The airline is probing the incident, with the CAAF Chief Executive Netava Waqa telling FBC News that it wants to ensure investigations are carried out correctly.
Fiji Airways says a flight attendant was injured by the landing's impact.
The damaged plane is in Nadi to be repaired.
The pilot has been suspended.
