The former Fiji army colonel who had been part of the Bainimarama regime but fled to Tonga last year has criticised the New Zealand and Australian governments for easing sanctions on the interim regime.
Last week, Wellington and Canberra announced a return to a full diplomatic presence and a lighter application of sanctions on people associated with the regime.
This followed commitments to financially assist the constitutional consultations and preparations for elections in 2014.
Ratu Tevita Uluilakeba Mara says the cosiness of both governments towards the regime is in stark contrast to their former principled stance.
He says they have been taken in by the constitutional consultations which he calls a charade.
Ratu Tevita says the regime remains untrustworthy and nothing has changed.
