Fiji and Indian citizens may pay only one tax in near future

Citizens from Fiji and India, who hope to work in either country, are expected to only pay tax in one country in the near future.

Representatives from the governments of Fiji and India have held talks on the Double Taxation Avoidance Agreement in Fiji.

According to the Fiji Village website, the Indian High Commissioner to Fiji, Vinod Kumar says a second round of negotiations have been held in between the Indian Delegation and the Chief Executive Officer of Fiji Revenue and Customs Authority.

Mr Kumar says talks have been positive and people and companies from both countries will benefit from the agreement.

He says the agreement is expected to be signed within a few months.
