Middle range accommodation suppliers are reportedly struggling in Samoa despite a rise in visitor numbers.
The shadow Minister of Finance, Afualo Wood Salele, says it is mostly locals who patronage their restaurants and bars and help them stay in business.
He says it is the top range accommodation and operators of beach fale that are reaping the most from the rise in tourism numbers.
Afualo Wood Salele says expenses like VAGST have hit them hard.
