China's Ambassador in Samoa, and Samoa's Prime Minister, Tuilaepa Sailele Malielegaoi, have signed the Framework Agreement on a concessional loan to build a national medical centre and headquarters for the Ministry of Health.

The project will be funded from a loan of more than sixty million US dollars from China's Export and Import Bank.

According to the ambassador, the agreement between the two countries symbolizes the close cooperation and friendly relations between his people and Samoa.

Several multimillion dollar building structures have been funded by China for Samoa in the past years including the newly built Justice complex which will be opened next week.
