The French government is to fund the training of another group of young people in Wallis and Futuna wanting to take advantage of the military's training programmes.
The addition is part of a French plan, as outlined by the budget ministry, to double the provision of such training France-wide to 6,000 volunteers by 2013.
The contracts will be for six months and for eight months from July.
The training scheme is for 18 to 25 year olds who have trouble finding work.
Figures of the past two years show that almost 80 percent of those who complete the training find work.
