The Director of the Solomon Islands Electoral Commission has been removed from his post.
The directive for Musu Kevu to move back to the Ministry of Home Affairs was given in a letter written by Chairman of the Electoral Commission and Speaker of Parliament, Sir Peter Kenilorea.
Radio New Zealand International understands Musu Kevu has only just returned from being suspended for misconduct in office.
However, Sir Peter would not elaborate on the reasons for Mr Kevu's removal.
Meanwhile the Electoral Commission has the Central Guadalcanal by-elections to prepare for in a few months time and the National elections to prepare for next year.
