New Zealand's Olympic shot put champion Valerie Vili has won the title at the Australian Championships in Brisbane.
Just like in Beijing, Vili's winning throw was in the first round.... she threw 20.22 metres, not far off her best.
Vili was over three metres clear of her nearest rival Ana Pou'hila of Tonga who was second with 16.94m. Dani Samuels of Australia was third with 16.30m.
Nelson stone of PNG has qualified for the final of the men's 400m, in 47.11 seconds.
