More than 1,600 jobs will be created in Solomon Islands over the next nine months for the national population census.
The Prime Minister announced the national population census day will be November the 23rd.
The Solomon Islands Broadcasting Corporation reports the census commissioner, Wellington Piduru, as saying the initial cost estimate to hold a census is close to 15 million US dollars.
He says the Republic of China and AusAID have committed themselves to financially support it.
