Food takes centre stage in American Samoa at a two-day conference to discuss Food Security next week.
It's organised by the Department of Agriculture and Land Grant Division of the American Samoa Community College.
The director of the Land Grant Division, Tapaau Dr Daniel Aga, says one of their aims is to decrease reliance on food imports and increase local food production.
"We get maybe 85 to 95 percent of our food off island and we need to do more to grow more foods locally, not only that, we need to look at fisheries because it's the ocean the land right, and what we do on the land is mostly agriculture and we also need to encourage coastal management of the fisheries."
