The Westpac Banking Corporation in Fiji has made an operating profit of 26 million US dollars after tax for their full financial year which ended on September 30 last year.
The Fiji Times online quotes Westpac's general manager for the Fiji Islands, John Cashmore, as saying the result shows the strength and resilience of the bank and its ability to support its customers during tough economic times.
Mr Cashmore says the bank will continue to encourage and invest in the development of Fiji's people.
The bank is looking at expanding its Fiji services this year, possibly introducing a range of new Automated Teller Machines and EFT-POS facilities.
