A strike is set to begin at midnight at the Paofai clinic in French Polynesia.
This comes as a notice given by the Atia I Mua union last week expires.
The union has taken the action amid complaints about poor working conditions and concern over patient safety.
The strike at the Papeete hospital is open-ended.
