Aloha Air is leasing ground equipment purchased by the American Samoa government but the terms of the lease are being kept under wraps.

The airline inaugurated a service to American Samoa last December.

The territory's Auditor, George Webster, is doing an audit of airport operations.

Mr Webster says he was told the lease hadn't been completed. .

Governor Togiola had said that the government purchased ground handling equipment to be leased back to the airline.

He said the equipment, worth over 400-thousand US dollars, would also be made available to other carriers when there is no conflict with Aloha operations or when it is needed.

Aloha Air was also given office space at the airport.
