Vanuatu is urged to tackle land issues in order to attract investors

Vanuatu's newly appinted Director General at the Ministry of Finance, Simeon Athay, has suggested that landowners may need to consider relaxing their control on land if new investors are to be attracted to the country.

He stressed the government would continue to face an up hill battle if issues of land were not seriously addressed.

He also called on people to take important steps to improves their own communities and told the Vanuatu Daily Post that the habit of waiting on government assistance should stop.
