The American Samoan governor is to call an urgent meeting with education officials after the US department of education reportedly identified very low test result by the territory' students.
Togiola Tulafono has bee advised that the territory's education department is being viewed as a high risk agency.
The matter will be debated when Togiola returns from the US where he has attended a conference of the National Governors Association next week.
Our correspondent in Pago Pago, Fili Sagapolutele, says while the governor has given no details, it is understood that test results have been declining .
"Some of the information we are getting from government sources is that there is an overall decline in student test scores out of American Samoa compared to the rest of the United States and its territories and that's one of the issues that have been of concern. One of the recent test scores released nationwide, and in its territories, show that American Samoa was even behind Puerto Rico and Guam."
